International Women’s Day at Abmar Barbosa Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Join us at Abmar Barbosa Jiu-Jitsu Academy for a full day of movement, learning, connection, and celebration in honor of International Women’s Day.

This special community event is open exclusively to women and girls of all ages and experience levels. The day is designed to create a safe, empowering space where women and girls can train, learn, connect, and celebrate strength both on and off the mats.

A minimum donation of $10 is required to register, and 100 percent of all donations will be donated to Girls on the Run, an organization dedicated to helping young girls build confidence, resilience, and healthy habits through physical activity and mentorship.

By taking part, you are not only celebrating women, you are directly supporting the next generation of strong and confident girls.

Learn practical, confidence-building self-defense skills designed for real-world situations.

Open Mat and Marathon Roll
An open training session for all levels. Train, flow, roll, and connect.

Introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
A beginner-friendly class. No prior experience required.

Inspiring Movie and Pizza Night 🍕🎬
We will end the day with an inspiring, girl-centered movie that celebrates confidence, perseverance, and believing in yourself. While it is especially great for girls, women will enjoy it just as much.

Do I need a gi to participate?
No. A gi is optional. Comfortable athletic clothing is perfectly fine.

Can I attend only part of the day?
Yes. You are welcome to attend as much or as little of the schedule as you like.

Is this event appropriate for girls?
Yes. The event is designed to be welcoming and empowering for girls. Activities and the movie selection are appropriate for girls, while still being meaningful for women.

Will the movie be suitable for adults as well?
Yes. While the movie is girl-centered and inspiring, its themes of confidence, perseverance, and self-belief resonate strongly with women.

Where does my donation go?
One hundred percent of all donations go directly to Girls on the Run.

Is there a minimum donation amount?
Yes. The recommended minimum donation is $10, with the option to donate more if you wish.

Will food be provided?
Pizza will be provided during the movie portion of the event. If you would like to sponsor lunch, please contact us.

Are spots limited?
Yes. Registration is required and spots are limited.
